John Abberger, is principal oboist with Tafelmusik (Toronto) and the American Bach Soloists (San Francisco), and has appeared as soloist with these two ensembles both in their home settings and around the world on tour. He also performs regularly with many other prominent period instrument ensembles including Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Portland Baroque Orchestra, Handel and Haydn Society, the New York Collegium, and the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra. He can be heard on many recordings, primarily on the Sony Classical and Koch International labels, but also on Harmonia Mundi, BMG Classics, Pro Arte and Newport Classic.
